Fort Lauderdale and Miami top ten cities for foreclosures

Cities in California, Florida, and Ohio dominated the top 25 U.S. cities with the highest foreclosure rates according to a report released by RealtyTrac on Wednesday.

Foreclosure filings rose in 77 of the largest 100 metropolitan areas compared to the previous quarter.

The top three cities were Stockton, California; Detroit Michigan; and Riverside-San Bernardino, California.  In Stockton, one out of every 31 households had a foreclosure filing.  In Detroit, out out of every 33 households had a filing.

Other cities in the top ten including Fort Lauderdale and Miami.  Florida had a total of 5 cities in the top 25.
