Florida condos going commercial

With the housing market still in a slump, a lot of Florida condo developers are switching their unbuilt projects over to commercial spaces.

Argent Ventures was originall building 6 condo towers with over 4,000 residential units in downtown Miami in the 11-acre former site of the Omni International Mall. Instead Argent is looking to reflag and remodel the hotel as a Hilton, add offices, new shops and restaurants.

Argent isn’t the only developer switching Miami condos over to commercial projects.  The Villa Magna condo project is reworking and renaming their project to add more hotel and retail space.  The Spanish Village project in Coral Gables sold part of its land to an office developer.
