Palm Beach County home sales plummet

Existing home sales in Palm Beach County had a sharp decline mirror the national trend.

In September, the sale of existing homes in Palm Beach County declined 17 percent to 471 homes from 566 homes in September of 2006 according to the Florida Association of Realtors.  The median sale price was $355,300, down 3 percent from $365,500 in September of 2006.

Nationwide, home sales are also declining.  According to the National Association of Realtors, home sales nationwide fell 8 percent in September and the median price dropped 4 percent.
