Foreclosures doubled from last year

Foreclosures across the U.S. have nearly doubled last month compared to September of 2006 according to RealtyTrac Inc.

A total of 223,538 foreclosures were filed in September 2007 compared to 112,210 in September 2006.  However, foreclosure numbers of September 2007 were 8 percent lower than foreclosures in August 2007, showing we’re at least on a decline.
