Senate to appeal rejection of property tax amendment
The Florida Senate will appeal the court’s decision to throw out the property tax-cutting amendment.
Lawmakers passed a measure to put a proposal for property tax cuts in front of voters on ballots in the January 29th election. However, a circuit judge rejected the amendment this week. The Senate will appeal the court’s decision.
The judge said the ballot summary was misleading. It claimed it would preserve property tax cuts, although the actual amendment calls for phasing it ot.
