Group Aims to Fight Florida Mortgage Broker Image
There’s plenty of blame to go around, that’s for sure.
But Florida mortgage brokers feel like they are unfairly scapegoated.
With Florida home loan brokers tired of taking the fall in the press and in the public eye for problems plaguing the subprime (bad credit) home loan market, trade groups are starting to fight back.
With that in mind: Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers President Ritch Workman is asking members to combat this image, telling them to let the world know they are no more responsible for the Florida mortgage meltdown than a car salesman is culpable for global warming.
He has another bit of advice: Pass the blame where it belongs - the lenders who made the Florida mortgage loans that got so many homeowners into trouble in the first place - or to the buyers who got themselves way in over their heads without considering the consequences.
