Look to Florida for Fastest-Growing Housing Markets in Nation
Amidst all the talk that the housing market is painfully slow - and that Florida home mortgage demand is lower than ever - one important fact seems to have been left out:
There were 124.5 million new housing units across the United States last, a 1.5 percent increase from a year earlier.
Moreover, the Sunshine State led the way. Flagler County was the fastest-growing housing market in the nation in 2005, according to a U.S. Census report released Monday. The stock expanded by 14.8 percent, or 5,000 new homes in the 12 months ended July 1, 2005. As anyone familiar with capitalism knows, demand drives supply; therefore, these units wouldn’t have been built if individuals and families were not applying for Florida mortgage loans.
In fact, three of the top four fastest-growing counties were in Florida, with Sumter County - 12.8 percent growth - at No. 2. These facts would speak to why many insiders believe the housing market is due for a correction, one that would benefit buyers, sellers and investors.
Pinal County, Arizona, was third with a 10.2 percent increase, but another Arizona county, Maricopa, recorded the largest numerical increase of any U.S. county; it added 52,000 homes during the 12 months, a 3.7 increase.
As housing units continue to increase across counties in Florida, expect buyers to return. If you’re included int hat group, now is an ideal time to send in our FREE application and get the process underway.
