On July 1, Fingerprinting Will Be Mandatory For Florida Real Estate Agents, Brokers
If you want to get a Florida real estate license, be prepared to have your fingerprints taken electronically as of July 1. According to the Sun-Sentinel, state law will require mandatory fingerprinting for applicants who wish to become real estate brokers and agents.
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), says the fingerprinting benefits applicants by reducing the paperwork and likelihood of mistakes.
The DBPR has contracted with Philadelphia-based Promissor Inc., a provider of knowledge measurement services, to do the electronic fingerprinting. Reservations and payment ($61) can be made on Promissor’s Web site, and the fingerprinting can be done at 15 sites across Florida including Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and Miami.
