Condo and New Home Construction in Tampa
Continuing the recent trend of converting apartment complexes to condominums, The Preserve at Tampa Palms apartment community will soon have a new name. The 378-unit complex is being transformed into to Vista Grande at Tampa Palms.
Tarragon Corp. is the manager of the community in New Tampa, which is home to five private parks and numerous playgrounds, athletic courts and clubs. There are also 45 lakes and 3,500 acres of conservation area nearby. Prices for the one-, two- and three-bedroom condos will range from the mid-$100s to $300,000.
The recent pattern of building condos in place of affordable apartment has contributed to an exodus from the Central and South Florida real estate market up to the northern part of the state. Perhaps in an attempt to halt this fleeing, Bruce Williams Homes is starting its development of 1,047 new single-family homes, town homes and paired villas later this spring at Cross Creek.
The site is located just off U.S. 301 and Fort Hamer Road in Parrish. Bruce Williams will also offer 100,000 square feet of commercial and retail owned center space, as well as a community center, amphitheater and an elementary school that will open in fall 2007.
New homes will range from $300,000 to more than $1 million, a release said. Those seeking a fairly reasonable Florida home loan in this range will now have the opportunity to locate one.
